By James Eccleston
Last week, the U.S. Attorney?s Office unsealed an indictment charging a Tampa, Florida insurance agent Steven B. Rodd with fraud charges and the possible disgorgement of more than $900,000 in commissions that he illegally collected from the sale of $32 million in unregistered securities in the Tampa Bay area.
Rodd, who was prohibited from selling securities in Florida in 1998 and 2003, and William P. Kress, are believed to have to have solicited investments from more than 250 elderly people in Pinellas, Hillsborough and Pasco counties. The duo is believed to have been selling investments in the Employee Investment Savings Account through two companies, Oxford Financial and the Churchhill Financial Group.
