Microsoft issued a statement to Gamasutra today saying that it is looking into MS Points codes being illegally generated for Xbox Live, but denied that it had lost $1.2 million in revenue from the scam. Hackers found a way to use old MS Points codes to generate new ones. The method for doing this was then posted on a gaming forum where users picked it up and ran with it. Despite all the alleged activity Microsoft says that the amount of codes generated and the amount of money lost by the activity has been overblown by several media outlets. Read More
