The next scheduled execution in Texas is next Wednesday, June 11.  The Huntsville Item reports, "Motion filed to stay execution of inmate."  It's written by Kristin Edwards.Attorneys representing the second Texas inmate scheduled to face lethal injection this month filed a motion for stay of execution Thursday morning with the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.The motion, filed on behalf of 38-year-old Karl Chamberlain, is nearly identical to the motion that was filed for death row inmate Derrick Sonnier earlier this week.Chamberlain, who is currently scheduled for execution on June 11, was sentenced to be executed by lethal injection for the 1991 rape and murder of Felicia Prechtl in Dallas.According to Ed Marty, Texas Court of Criminal Appeals general counsel, attorneys John Jasuta and David Schulman also notified the court that they intend to file a writ of habeas corpus...continue to full post
