By Stephen Bainbridge
Directorship is a magazine targeted at boards of directors, corporate executives, and other corporate governance players. They’ve just released their Directorship 100—i.e., their “second annual list of the most influential people on boardrooms and in corporate governance.” They explained that, in 2008, they “put more emphasis on those who influence the board???s strategic and economic agenda, including regulators.” Even so, yours truly made the cut.
Stephen Bainbridge is a professor at UCLA Law, where he focuses on corporate law and the economics of public corporations. He has written more than 75 law review articles for leading journals such as the Harvard Law Review and the Virginia Law Review. His most recent books include The New Corporate Governance in Theory and Practice and Securities Law: Insider Trading. Bainbridge also writes one of the most widely read legal blogs in academia.
Other law professors on the list include Lucian Bebchuk, Jack Coffee, Charles Elson, and Joe Grundfest. I’m honored to be in their company.
