No Countries. No Religion, Too.

By Alexa

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace. . .

Now that the GOP has been transformed by the rise of the South, the trauma of terrorism and George W. Bush's conviction that God wanted him to be president, a deeper conclusion can be drawn:  The Republican Party has become the first religious party in U.S. history.

Since September 11, 2001, Americans of all beliefs have decried Islamic fundamentalism, vowing to protect themselves from such extremism and the terrorism it lends itself to.  Yet the short years since have proven detrimental to religious freedom and liberty in general, leading to the nagging question: Could America slip into a fundamentalist mode that parallels those nations we are desperately seeking to defend ourselves against?

How Did The GOP Become God's Own Base?
Psychoanalyst Robert M. Young reports in Fundamentalism and Terrorism:
When people feel threatened, they simplify, or regress, says Young.  They "eliminate the middle ground" and divide "the world into safe and threat, good and evil, life and death."

Sarah Palin's worldview is much the same as George W. Bush's. He has declared, "Every nation in every region now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists," and both have made  similar statements on more than one occasion.

John McCain understands EVIL.

--Sarah Palin, Vice Presidential debate

Et tu, Aunt Sarah? Rhetorical question. Anyone who went to such incredible lengths to have YouTube video of anointment and protection against witchcraft -- yes, I said witchcraft -- pulled for "inappropriate content" has no respect for the first amendment of the Constitution on so many levels I could be here on Jefferson's Wall all night.

The current occupant of the White House has literally and figuratively divided the whole world into good and evil, black and white; no gray can exist.

Governments in repressive nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

The United States has organized much of its military posture since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks around the protection of oil fields, pipelines and sea lanes. But U.S. preoccupation with the Middle East has another dimension. In addition to its concerns with oil and terrorism, the White House is courting end-times theologians and electorates for whom the Holy Lands are a battleground of Christian destiny.

If any region of the United States had the potential to produce a high-powered, crusading fundamentalism, it was Dixie. If any new alignment had the potential to nurture a fusion of oil interests and the military-industrial complex, it was the Sun Belt, which helped draw them into commercial and political proximity and collaboration.

Unfortunately, more danger lurks in the responsiveness of the new GOP coalition to Christian evangelicals, fundamentalists and Pentecostals, who muster some 40 percent of the party electorate. Many millions believe that the Armageddon described in the Bible is coming soon.
Chaos in the explosive Middle East, far from being a threat, actually heralds the second coming of Jesus Christ. Oil price spikes, murderous hurricanes, deadly tsunamis and melting polar ice caps lend further credence.

Meet The Dominionists

Dominionists -- biblical literalists who believe God has called them to take over the U.S. government. As the far-right wing of the evangelical movement, Dominionists are pressing an agenda that makes Newt Gingrich's Contract With America look like the Communist Manifesto.

They want to rewrite schoolbooks to reflect a Christian version of American history, pack the nation's courts with judges who follow Old Testament law, post the Ten Commandments in every courthouse and make it a felony for gays  to have civil rights and women to have abortions. In Florida, when the courts ordered Terri Schiavo's feeding tube removed, it was the Dominionists who organized round-the-clock protests and issued a fiery call for Gov. Jeb Bush to defy the law and take Schiavo into state custody.

Their ultimate goal is to plant the seeds of a "faith-based" government that will endure far longer than Bush's presidency -- all the way until Jesus comes back.

From The Desk of Jim Bramlett:

And God says, "When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him" (Isaiah 59:19).

Enter Governor Sarah Palin.  With incredible timing, the very next day, Sarah Palin also appeared out of nowhere.  Her shocking selection as John McCain's running mate stunned the world and suddenly took all the wind out of Obama's sails.

We quickly learned that Sarah is a born-again, Spirit-filled Christian, attends church, and has been a ministry worker.

Sarah is that standard God has raised up to stop the flood.  She has the anointing.  You can tell by how the dogs are already viciously attacking her.  But they will not be successful.  She knows the One she serves and will not be intimidated.

Back in the 1980s, I sensed that Israel's little-known Benjamin Netanyahu was chosen by God for an important end-time role.  I still believe that.  I now have that same sense about Sarah Palin.

Today I did some checking and discovered that both her first and last names are biblical words, one in Hebrew the other in Greek:

Sarah.  Wife of Abraham and mother of Isaac.  In Hebrew, Sarah means "noble woman" (Strong's 8283).

Palin.  In Greek, the word means "renewal." (Strong's 3825).

What is a Deborah?

A friend said he believes that Sarah Palin is a Deborah.  Of Deborah, Smith's Bible Dictionary says, "A prophetess who judged Israel.... She was not so much a judge as one gifted with prophetic command.... and by virtue of her inspiration 'a mother in Israel.'"

Only God knows the future and how she may be used by Him, but may this noble woman serve to bring renewal in the land, and inspiration.

Propinas muchas to dogemperor, who gives these lawless estupidas no quarter.
