: New York City Personal Injury LawyerBayer's Response to 60-minute episode on Trasylol
By Oguz Ozdemir
When the 60-minute episode aired on Trasylol Bayer was asked what they thought about the program in which they expressed sorry and grief for the death of Joseph Randone who was administered Trasylol in January of 2009 during his heart valve repair surgery. Randone ended up dying several months after the surgery was taken place when his kidney’s failed him. Trasylol, manufactured by Bayer Pharmaceuticals is a drug used to control the amount of bleeding during heart related surgeries. It was a very popular drug for many years until the true side effects were proven and ended up causing kidney failure leading to death. Thousands of patients have died on account of being administered Trasylol during their heart surgeries. Many studies have been done proving that Trasylol causing Kidney complications that lead to failure and death. In 2007 Bayer was forced to take Trasylol off the market and suspended their global marketing of the product. Despite all of the harm that Trasylol has caused, currently Bayer is awaiting the final results of the BART trial in which then they will begin a new risk-benefit analysis and determine what steps to take next. The fact of the matter is that Bayer conducted their own study on the effects of Trasylol and found out that it causes kidney failure. However, they decided to keep these findings to themselves allowing the deadly product to remain on the market for over a year. If you or a loved one has been affected by Trasylol, contact super lawyers and Napoli Bern Ripka, LLP as soon as possible.
