We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again: Young law dogs with Department of Justice aspirations should consider Latham & Watkins. The firm seems to be the DOJ’s home away from home.

In September, it netted Alice Fisher, the former chief of the DOJ’s criminal division who resigned from the post in May. Going the other way is Kathy Ruemmler, the former Deputy Director of the DOJ’s Enron Task Force. According to a report on Above the Law — which has posted an e-mail from Latham’s managing partner in D.C., Eric Bernthal, to “#D.C. All Personnel” — Ruemmler has been selected to serve as the [deep breath] Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General in the Justice Department.

Ruemmler (U. of Washington, G’town Law) was an AUSA from 2001 to 2007. Pictured, right, is Ruemmler with Enron co-prosecutor Sean Berkowitz, who landed at Latham in 2006.
