Honestly, Obama Has Good Taste In Tea

I learned today what some others have long known:  Barack Obama is an Honest Tea lover.    What a fine choice!  I first discovered this excellent, fairly low cal brew at Tuscaloosa's health food nirvana, Manna.  Let's face it: there aren't too many bottled beverages that are actually lightly sweetened with sugar.  As in: less than half the calories of soda.  And sometimes even fewer.  Unlike Obama, who apparently cottons to the Black Forest Berry and Green Dragon, I favor Peach White (along with Peach Oo La Long) and Moroccan Mint. 

For those of you who want the caffeine info on Honest Teas (which is not on the bottle labels) - you're the folks who've read my prior post on the caffeine content of sodas - the website has it here.  They range from zero grams of the chemical (in things like Black Forest Berry) to a whopping 71 mg. in a serving of Just Black Tea and Assam Black (another fave of mine.)

Alas, Honest Tea can no longer be considered a quirky addition to the beverage aisle.  Coke bought a 40% share of the company earlier this year.  Still, the stuff is good.  Hell.  So is Coke.
