Gender roles in the animal kingdom

N.B.: All references to bullsharks in the following post refer to the actual shark, and not my husband of the same name.

Clownfish: How about I be a bullshark and you be a remora?
Me: No, I want to be the bullshark, and you be the remora.
CF: You can't be a bullshark. Only boys are bullsharks.
Me: There are girl bullsharks. Of course there are girl bullsharks.
CF: No there is not.
Me: Yes there are -- how else do you think they make baby bullsharks?
CF: If I were a sea horse and a boy I could carry babies in my tummy. Because the Papa seahorses carry the babies.
Me *dumbfounded*: Ummm... that is true.
CF: But that probably doesn't work with bullsharks. Ok, you can be the bullshark.
