March of the Blogs - Reid My Blog!

By Robert Kraft

ADVERTISEMENTS

For the month of March, I am going to highlight blogs that I think are interesting and useful. Some may not be directly related to personal injury or Social Security disability law, but all of us who represent injured and disabled people occasionally need help in other areas. A few have been featured here before, but they keep getting better. Today's entry in March of the Blogs:

My friend Reid Trautz practiced law for about ten years before deciding to spend his time advising lawyers on managing their own practices. He was with the Washington, D.C. Bar Association for several years, and now is the Director of the American Immigration Lawyers Association's Practice & Professionalism Center. At the AILA Web site, Reid writes about practice management. But at his own blog, the wonderfully titled Reid My Blog!, he talks about pretty much anything that catches his interest - from legal management issues to the latest gadgets. Reid is always interesting, informative, and entertaining, and you should "Reid" his blog.

You're liable to run into Reid most anywhere in the country, as he is a very active speaker on legal matters. Here is a part of his biography:

I have had the honor of being invited to speak and present on these issues at legal conferences across North America, including the Missouri Bar Solo & Small Firm Conference; Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association; Oklahoma Solo & Small Firm Conference; ABA TECHSHOW; Arizona Bar Annual Meeting; Virginia Trial Lawyers Solo & Small Firm Conference; Law Society of Upper Canada/Ontario Bar Association Solo & Small Firm Conference; American Academy of Adoption Attorneys Annual Conference; Pacific Legal Technology Conference; National Solo and Small Firm Conference (sponsored by the ABA GP Solo Division); and numerous conferences sponsored by other ABA Sections.

I am proud to be an active member of the ABA Law Practice Management Section, currently serving on the ABA TECHSHOW Planning Board, as well as on the LPM Section governing council. I also serve as a member of the ABA General Practice Solo and Small Firm Section Technology Board. In 2008, I was honored to be inducted into the College of Law Practice Management.

I am admitted to the bars of Minnesota, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

I lead an active family life with my wife and our three sons, who think we run a bank and a taxi service for their sole pleasure. When not at home in Virginia, we like to travel the US, discover local diners, drive-ins and dives, and ride roller coasters until we, well, um, can't anymore.
