Vacation Safety: Even in a bus, adventure travel poses risks.

An Iowa couple was on the bus crash in Monterry, Mexico. The husband, 73-year-old Ronald Christy, died and his wife, Margaret, is hospitalized and in critical condition. The driver of the bus was intoxicated. He was killed in the crash. Mexican officials conclude the truck went off the road, then overcorrected and swerved into oncoming traffic striking the bus head on. Eleven people on the bus were killed. More may follow. The Christy's lived in West Liberty, at least one of their children reside in Altoona, Iowa.

The U.S. Embassy confirmed eight Americans died in the crash.

Video of the wreck is available online. Damage to the bus is extensive; it's surprising anyone survived.
