Googlegangers and googlenonymousness

ADVERTISEMENTS
There are three women with my name who get a lot of press. One is a lawyer who wrote a best selling mystery novel. Another is a blonde prosecutor in Texas. One is a high school (now I think college) athlete. And one is a college director special education accommodations. On Facebook, presuming the photos posted are of the faces of the people themselves, I found a black woman in London, a blonde woman in Tennessee, a younger brunette and a red-head (locations unknown).

I am thankful for my Googlegangers because so long as my name does not appear on this blog, I am pretty Googlenonymous. A few items by or about me turn up on the front page of Google now if you type my name AND law school, but they're law school related and positive, so I wouldn't worry if an employer found them.

Then again, I am becoming less and less concerned about my web presence and anything I have written here. I have seriously thought about linking up my real name to my Twitter account and to this blog (after some purging).

I still worry about posting pictures of my kid, even on FB. I've posted like two. But my Hubby has a FB account and has posted quite a bit of our little guy.

But there are weirdos and creeps here on the web. And anyone can join FB now. I'd kind of like to minimize my kids web presence before he's old enough to make one for himself.

Thoughts?
