 Warner Olds (circa 1970)Olds, Warner Smith, passed away on March 24, 2009, after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer, which he endured with great strength and humor. Son of Leslie and Ruth (Mauldin), he was born on August 14, 1937, in Cordele, Georgia, a place he described as "the watermelon capital of the world." After serving in the Army, and winning a 4th Army table tennis tournament, he received his B.A. and J.D. from Mercer University, Georgia. Shortly after graduating from law school, he moved to South Florida where he married Carol Jean (nee Anderten). He began working in the prosecutor's office, where he became the chief assistant state attorney for Broward County. He later traded sides of the courtroom, spending the majority of his career as a criminal defense attorney in Broward County (serving from 1972 to 1976 as public defender)...continue to full post
