Joe Mccloud was southbound on 180th St. in Appanoose County when he lost control of his vehicle striking a tree in the West ditch. All though Mr. Mccloud was wearing his seatbelt he died from the injuries sustained in the crash. So what happened to allow his Chevrolet Tracker to lose control? Questions we lawyers ask all the time. Was it a deer? Was something wrong with the car? Was the driver under the influence of drugs or alcohol or some distraction?
The driver's door was the point of impact with a tree. The accident happened at daylight just before 10:00 A.M. He wore corrective lenses or eyeglasses or contact lenses. Was he wearing them? Were the tires bald? Did the car malfunction?
Many questions in the practice of law remain questions with no answers. Perhaps the autopsy will show something of interest.
