Yesterday's Oklahoma Gazette reprints at length excerpts from invocations and remarks by clergy offered in the Oklahoma House of Representatives this legislative session. Each week a state representative invites a member of the clergy to be pastor of the week. Usually they offer a prayer on Monday through Wednesday, and on Thursday give short remarks which can be reprinted in the House Journal if requested by the sponsoring member. From Bible verses, to humor, to inspiration, the prayers and remarks cover a wide range of topics.Full post as published by Religion Clause on May 07, 2009 (boomark / email).
