: Texas Lawyer BlogTough Decisions?
By mcbride
As I contemplate the government?s corporate preferences — GMAC yes; Chrysler Financial no (see one article on the forced switch: http://www.crainsdetroit.com/article/20090510/SUB01/305109961/1069 ) ? I am reminded of the recent Saturday Night live skit where ?President Obama? gives a speech on the government?s decisions about which companies will be allowed to continue and which will be compelled to close. There are the more obvious choices: ?Jeans: Levi?s yes; Wrangler no? and then there are the less obvious ones: ?Frozen shrimp: Gorton?s of Gloucester yes; Mrs. Paul?s no, absolutely not.? The skit continues with the ?President? reporting on the government?s testing of competing brands of toothpaste, riding mowers, men?s briefs and plastic vomit!
