Obama Threatens Britain Over Torture Memo Release

The Obama administration has, yet again, copied the Bush administration. And again, it's in the Binyam Mohamed case, only this time in a British suit over his abuse. We already had hints that this had happened, but now we've got the text of the actual letter written by the DOJ threatening that if a memo detailing the abuse of Mohamed is released, they may withhold intelligence from the British. Glenn Greenwald has details.

He also has a copy of the actual letter, which comes directly from the Obama administration. In fact, Mohamed's attorneys had made a motion asking the British court to contact the Obama administration, hoping that the new administration would change the U.S. government's position:
