: Des Moines Personal Injury LawyerChildren Are Not Disposable Possessions
By Barbara Tubridy Lombardi
Parenting is hard work. Doing hard time in prison or jail is not the way to raise children.
The Des Moines Register reported a 3-year-old child is safe in the custody of DHS child protective workers after the camper he was found in was searched and the supervising adults were arrested on various drug charges. On April 30, 2009, at 3:00 a.m., Des Moines police were sent to the 900 block of E. 17th Street for an illegally parked camper and a report of narcotics activity. The owner of the camper reportedly intended to park the camper behind a friend's house nearby. Seems like he never made it…..perhaps, as was reported, the camper was littered with among other things, dog feces, trash, and unrefrigerated food got in the way.
'Police allegedly found five syringes, marijuana and related paraphernalia.'
Des Moines Register
Three adults were charged that morning, the mother with child endangerment and possession of narcotics. One male of Des Moines, was charged with possession and interference with official acts, and another male, owner of the camper was charged with being at a gathering where controlled substances were used.
What's going on with young adults? Are children merely a problem or are they a choice and something to dedicate your next twenty years? If you have children and don't want to dedicate yourself to creating a healthy and enriching environment putting them up for adoption is a wise and healthy choice. Not many people would think twice about your choice of giving children up for adoption to more committed and mature couples who want children and are willing to create the environment they need. If you love the child do the right thing. If what is reported is correct then this isn't it.
