ADVERTISEMENTS

My recent list of songs about mind & brain omitted what I'm guessing is the most scientifically-sophisticated music on this subject -- the music of the NYC band the Amygdaloids (Joseph LeDoux, Daniela Schiller, Nina Galbraith Curley, and Tyler Volk). See http://www.amygdaloids.net/.

Many thanks to Martha Farah for informing me of the group in the comments section of my previous post. I'm a big fan of Joseph LeDoux's books, The Emotional Brain and The Synaptic Self, but was not aware he was in a rock band. Now I can get the CDs and complete my books set/discography.

P.S. The song, Memory Pill, doesn't begin until 3 minutes into the video. Before that is a clip of a lecture at the 92d Street Y.
