: Practical ParalegalismParalegal Student to Attend Graduation Ceremony via Second Life
By Lynne DeVenny
Second Life is ?a free 3D virtual world where users can socialize, connect and create using voice and text chat.? But it?s not just for role-playing games anymore. Real people actually go to college, get real degrees and for the first time, will virtually walk across a stage in their caps and gowns via Second Life.
Paralegal student Sheri Frost will receive her associate?s degree in paralegal studies from Bryant & Stratton College?s Second Life (virtual) campus on June 10, 2009.
The mother of four says, ?Going to school online has fulfilled a long time dream of mine?achieving a degree and setting a good example for my children. To cap off the online education experience with a virtual graduation, with my family by my side, will be extremely rewarding.?
Being a huge fan of educational degrees, but also one who avidly avoids actual graduation ceremonies, this seems like the perfect situation for ?Pomp and Circumstance? to play, without requiring my actual presence.
