3 Vehicle Crash Causes 3 Injuries in Georgia

By Jessica Smagacz

ADVERTISEMENTS

According to RNW, two vehicles were totaled and three injuries occurred as a result of a three-truck crash this past Wednesday afternoon.

This truck accident occurred on Rockmart Highway in Georgia right before 3:15 p.m. in front of Newbery's Auto Garage.

Some witnesses said that the crash occurred when traffic slowed in front of the 101 Tobacco store. Apparently a gold Chevy Silverado rear-ended a white Ford-150. Both trucks were severely damaged.

A male driver was in the white Ford along with a small toddler who 'were immobilized by Rome FireFighters and Floyd EMS and transported to FMC with moderate injuries.' The driver of the other vehicle, the gold Silverado, was transported to FMC. He had injuries to his hand and 'was visibly shaken up by the collision.'

This truck accident is still under investigation, according to the Georgia State Patrol Trooper Cochran.

The gold Silverado shorted out and started leaking acid, which created a white vapor from the engine compartment. FireFighters were able to disconnect the battery and neutralize the threat.

As a result of this truck accident, Highway 101 was shut down for about twenty minutes. See pictures of the accident here.

Do you know what do to if you are in a car accident? As our past post discussed, here is what you need to know if you are in a car accident:

Immediately call the police. When the police arrive, they know exactly what to do. The police will also create a police report after interviewing all witnesses and determining who is at fault.

Make sure everyone else is safe.

Gather information. You must get the other driver's information such as the vehicle's VIN number, insurance information, and license plate number.

Seek medical attention/help. Car accidents can cause serious injuries, even injuries that do not arise until much later after the car accident. It is important to see a doctor to evaluate your condition.

If you have a camera, take pictures of the cars involved in the accident.

Call/seek an attorney.

According to Ezine articles, there are several things you MUST not do after you are in a car accident:

Admit fault; leave the scene; wait for insurance companies to contact you or take too much time to call an attorney; sign anything without knowing what the papers say or means.
