Connecticut Resident Moves Closer to Paralegal Career Goal

Having always worked in jobs she didn't enjoy to provide for her family, Janet Rose wanted to be able to support them while working somewhere she loved.
?I want a career for myself,? she said. ?I want to (support them) on my own, without assistance.?
Rose will now be able to follow her dream of becoming a paralegal after receiving a certificate in computer and career training at the Opportunities Industrialization Center of New London County graduation on Friday evening.
The 92 graduates are all one step closer to better careers, earning certificates in computer and career training, clerical and office skills training, introduction to culinary arts and certified nurses' assistant training.
The guest speaker, 20th District state Sen. Andrea Stillman, D-Waterford, told the graduates to enjoy this success, but to be prepared to conquer further challenges down the road.
?I would encourage each of you to take a minute and gloat a little bit,? she said to the audience in John C. Evans Hall at Connecticut College. ?Take what you've learned at OIC and set new goals.?
