By John Darer
The LinkedIn profile for Elizabeth Pressman (see link below) states that Pressman Settlements Corporation is in the "investment management industry" and that she is in "investment management"

Inasmuch as there has been an advertisement for "investment management" with no disclosure of affiliation with a "broker dealer" or Registered Investment Adviser on the Pressman Settlements Corporation website or LinkedIn profile, a FINRA BrokerCheck® search was performed. FINRA BrokerCheck® allows interested parties to check the background of investment professionals and those who claim to be "investment professionals" as well as firms. A search of BrokerCheck comes up empty for both Elizabeth Pressman and Pressman Settlements Corporation.
Ms. Pressman, who has a recent history of being sanctioned, for being less than forthright, by insurance regulators in New York, clearly has some explaining to do.
Why hold yourself out to the public as being in "investment management" if your corporate website speaks only of life insurance annuities and there is no disclosure of any other securities or financial advisory affiliation? IF she does not possess the authority or credentials Pressman should not be holding herself out as being in "investment management". If she does then disclose the affiliation and the licensing authority. Those who HAVE studied for and passed the Series 6 7, 63 and/or 65 or 66 and have maintained CE credits necessary to keep such authority, or earned the Chartered Financial Analyst, should not have the value of their efforts demeaned by those that slap on a label.
