Source: Press release, Office of the Governor

Governor David A. Paterson and Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo have released the Attorney General?s State Police report, along with a letter from the Governor responding to the Attorney General's findings and recommendations.

The Attorney General?s report concludes that:

1. There is ?no evidence that the rank and file of the State Police - the Troopers who are out there every day doing their job the way it should be done - acted in anything other than the public interest and maintained their integrity.?

2. There are ?certain troubling situations in which, at the highest levels of the State Police, political considerations played an improper and determinative role.?
