: New York City Personal Injury LawyerNJ Transit Bus Runs over Man?s Legs
By Paul Napoli
February 12, 2010
A man is recovering in the hospital after a NJ Transit Bus ran over his legs, according to PressofAtlanticCity.com.
The accident happened Tuesday evening as Robert Fortune, 52, of Ventnor, exited the bus with other passengers at Arkansas Avenue and Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City. He attempted to walk over a snow bank, but slid down and under the bus, which had started to pull away. Witnesses to Fortune's fall attempted to alert bus driver William Spencer, 45, and ran alongside the bus to get the Spencer to stop after the bus had run over Fortune's legs.
An ambulance transported Fortune to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City. He suffered injuries to his legs, ankles and feet.
Shortly after the accident, NJ Transit suspended most bus routes due to poor weather conditions.
