Cableguy Suffers Head Injury from 20 Foot Fall when SUV Hits Ladder

An SUV struck the ladder of an on-duty Cablevision worker, sending him falling 20 feet to the pavement below, APP.com reported.

33-year-old David Jankowski, of South Amboy, used an extension ladder to service cable wire at the corner of Green Grove Avenue and First Street in Keyport, NJ on Thursday. At about 3 p.m. in the afternoon, 56-year-old Cheryl Troianiello, of Staten Island, NY, struck the ladder with her Hyundai SUV, sending Jankowski falling 20 feet to the road below.

Jankowski suffered trauma to his head in the fall. A New Jersey State Police helicopter transported him to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick where they list him in serious condition.

Keyport Police Lt. Anthony Gallo told APP.com that the cable service pole was not marked as a hazard with rubber safety cones or a service truck. The police issued no summons, but the accident remains under investigation.
