Fear Not Trial Lawyers! Factoring "Ain't Nothing" and All That!

Hey trial lawyers! Fear of factoring got you worried about placing your client in a structured settlements?

The ubiquitous advertising makes it SEEM like a bigger problem than it really is. Consider an April 26, 2010 report in Euromoney Institutional Investor stated that the King of "cash now pushers". J.G. Wentworth, has issued 20 securitizations backed by structured settlements AND annuities receivables totaling $2.3 billion since 1997. Compare this to the in excess of $100 billion in premium of structured settlements that have been written and the multiples of that amount in future benefits purchased. Is it that big of a deal?

Here's one way of looking at it...

It' seems that there really aren't THAT many people "jonesing" to sell their structured settlement payment rights.
