 What's up with Gehl? Public Defender Howard Finkelstein has authored a letter to Chief Judge Victor Tobin regarding recent statements by Judge Peggy Gehl.  From the letter: Here is a summary of four incidents wherein Judge Gehl made racist comments ... " ... you do smoke because you have dreadlocks."  (to a lawyer) "Go back to Jamaica! Go back to Jamaica!"  (to a Defendant) "But Mexicans do love their beer."  (to a lawyer regarding a Mexican client) "Oh the Jews are the smartest!"  (to a lawyer) Click here for the full text of the letter.  Finkelstein wants Tobin "to think about this information" before allowing Gehl to serve as a Senior Judge in the future.  We say don't think about it all and keep her in full time retirement.
