It All Fits Together

The blogresses at one of our favorite lefty sites, In This Moment, have been sorting out what happened at the Democratic Party caucuses in Texas:
Did bands of unruly kids act as thugs for Obama in the Texas caucuses? Does Obama win caucuses in general because his supporters threaten defenseless, cowering Clintonites? That is the accusation included in comments on a post by my co-blogger Nancy Jane Moore.
We attended the Ellis County, Kansas, Democratic Party caucus in 1988, when the county went for the Rev. Jesse Jackson on about the 14th ballot, and we remember it as being sort of a combination of university cocktail party and street fight. So we're certainly not going to tell the party of Billy Sol Estes and Jim Wright how to run their organization.
We couldn't help noticing one point that just sort of jumped out at us:
Associated Press
March 11
In Hidalgo County, a border stronghold for Clinton, the count has been stymied because Democratic chairman Juan Maldonado changed his cell phone number after losing re-election and wasn't available for several days at his business, a bail-bond office that also offers state teacher certification.
The whole thing lives here.
What impresses us is that Mr. Maldonado has found a way to provide one-stop shopping for two of the Democrats' major constituencies: felons and the teachers union. Hidalgo County is adjacent to the Rio Grande, so the illegal immigrants undocumented Americans are covered, but is he serving the other component of the Democratic base with an office at the cemetery?
Just askin', y'know?
