ABA Section Endorses the Uniform Bar Examination

ADVERTISEMENTS

The movement towards a Uniform Bar Exam is gaining momentum.  The ABA's Council of the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar just finalized a resolution that encourages states to consider adopting the UBE.  The Conference of Chief Justices recently did the same.

Missouri and North Dakota already have agreed to use the UBE, and according to this ABA Journal story, several other states are considering making the change.

The UBE, which we've discussed previously here, has the potential to facilitate multijurisdictional practice for many lawyers, particularly junior lawyers who are typically unable to take advantage of admission by motion.  For more information on the UBE, see this short article.  (See also here.)
