GDC Online Attracts 3,000 Attendees

The annual event dedicated to developers and publishers of online and social games managed to attract more than 3,000 attendees, according to its organizers. The Game Developers Conference Online (previously known as GDC Austin) concluded on October 8.

The four-day event featured sessions, discussions, networking opportunities, and game announcements. Highlights included a keynote from Brian Reynolds (now working as Chief Game Designer for Zynga) and the debut of the Game Developers Choice Online Awards.

GDC Online featured more than 140 lectures, panels, keynotes and roundtable discussions presented by 190 speakers. During the Awards show Ultima Online received the first-ever recipient of the Hall of Fame award, and League of Legends won multiple awards - including the audience award.

GDC Online returns to Austin, Texas on October 11-14, 2011.
