The German firm Viering, Jentschura & Partner is seeking a U.S. patent attorney with seven to ten years of experience in drafting U.S. applications and prosecuting applications before the USPTO for a position in its offices in Singapore. Candidates with a physics or an electrical engineering background will be considered. Candidates must possess a degree in physics or electrical engineering (Master's degree, Doctorate, or equivalent scientific or technical work experience strongly preferred) and a J.D. or equivalent, have strong writing skills in English, and be licensed to practice before the USPTO and in at least one U.S. state. U.S. citizenship is preferred, but not required - candidates with the ability to keep their registration to practice before the USPTO while living abroad are preferred.

The successful candidate will work with the Singapore branch of the firm's Physics and Electrical Engineering department to assist clients with preparing and prosecuting U.S. patent applications and U.S.-style applications in numerous jurisdictions. Additionally, the successful candidate may be responsible for training and supervising several trainees and associates. Management experience of candidates will be considered.

Compensation will depend on experience, but will generally be commission-based. Partnership consideration after two years is possible for highly experienced candidates.
