Melamine Contamination Corruption Cover-up for the CCP

Posted on January 11, 2009
They contaminated an untold amount of baby formula. Enough baby formula to kill at least seven infants and sicken over 300,000 more. But only sixty people have been arrested or charged with crimes. And there is no indication if government officials are included...

Diet Safety: Marked "safe" - but is it really?

Posted on January 11, 2009
Most of us have a general knowledge of diet pills. We don’t all know the specifics as to why, how and when they work; however, most know that many such pills contain caffeine-like stimulants that hype users’ systems into overdrive, increasing not only their metabolisms but also their digestive, nervous and circulatory systems...

Construction Safety - Two laborers killed in New Delhi, 20 injured.

Posted on January 10, 2009
Two sleeping labor workers were killed with a load of sand was dumped at the location where they were sleeping. In another incident three pedestrians and seventeen workers were injured by a falling iron bar. The bar is reported to have bent, failed and then fallen onto the people below...

Diet Safety: What, exactly, does the Lemonade Diet Master?

Posted on January 10, 2009
Previously, I gave a general overview of the body cleanse (from a weight-loss standpoint). At several points throughout that article I mentioned that a body cleanse can be directed in a variety of ways. Take the Master Cleanse lemonade diet, for example...

Trucker dies after 600 pound pipe falls on him while delivering to a construction site

Posted on January 09, 2009
Construction site work has to be one of the most dangerous occupations. Probably as dangerous as farming and iron and steel work. The Pennsylvania trucker was only 33-years of age. He was doing his job at a Lansing area construction site 75 miles west to northwest of Detroit when a 600 pound waterline pipe being fell on him crushing him to death...

Construction Safety - Collapsing Cranes and weight restrictions.

Posted on January 08, 2009
Overloading the crane being used on a construction site is too common for workers to ignore. In May 2008 it happened in New York and just a few days ago it occurred in New Delhi. In each instance workers were killed. Here are some examples of cranes collapsing as a result of overloading...

The CCP will cause future melamine food contaminations in the USA - Let the weeping Chinese mothers weep aloud for their dead and sickened children.

Posted on January 08, 2009
Mothers and fathers of infant children sickened by melamine contaminated infant formula are dying to tell us their side of the story, but Chinese government officials are very good at stifling dissent and destroying evidence to prove wrongdoing. It's reported that a seventh baby died of melamine poisoning; but we won't know if the number is much higher because the Chinese government is destroying the evidence by refusing to allow autopsies...

Wisconsin's Jahnke video ruling honors the limits of privacy actually waived

Posted on January 07, 2009
We’ve been covering privacy issues and the violation of privacy rights. We’ve discussed in recent posts the unauthorized surveillance by a husband of the wife in her bedroom, the Anthony Pellicano invasion of privacy indictment and prison sentence in California and finally stalker secrets involving bullying...

Diet Safety: The body cleanse does more than just cleanse...

Posted on January 07, 2009
If you’ve read any of the articles I posted in the past week, you probably already know where I stand on weight loss and diet safety. I’m not a skeptic, I’m a realist. I believe any pill that sounds too good to be true probably is...

Diet Safety: Amphetamines and Anorectic Drugs

Posted on January 06, 2009
Yesterday I discussed ephedra, a drug commonly used in diet pills and known for its immense weight-loss capabilities. In that article, I briefly touched on the similarities between the side effects of ephedra and amphetamines. Scary thought, huh? Well that thought jumps from scary to downright terrifying when you consider that, despite the fact that they’re illegal in both the UK and the US, there are numerous weight loss pills on the market which are laced with amphetamines...

Consumer Safety: How do we solve the melamine contamination crisis and stop the Chinese from corrupting the American and world supply of consumer goods?

Posted on January 05, 2009
The entire melamine contamination debacle I find interesting. Especially with respect to how the United States government, our government, seems to be sitting on the sidelines doing very little with the President saying nothing publicly. Meanwhile the Chinese government represses basic freedoms of the people injured by denying them freedom of speech to publicly complain about the manner in which they are being treated...

Violating a person's Right to Privacy can lead you to prison

Posted on January 05, 2009
The New Year is a good time for a good marriage resolution, like how about if we just try to get along. Today there are two cases involving a right to privacy. In the first Anthony Pellicano was sentenced to 15 years in prison for invading the privacy of certain individuals...

Diet Safety: FDA fed up with Ephedra

Posted on January 05, 2009
My previous two articles revolved around Alli and Xenical, both of which are diet pills. But these are just two of the many similar products currently on the market. There are hundreds (perhaps thousands) of different pills intended to help men and women alike lose weight...

Family Law: Electronic surveillance of wife's bedroom activity leads to $22,500 judgment

Posted on January 04, 2009
Family Law: A bedroom right to privacy between fighting spouses A married but separated Iowa couple continues to have a right to bedroom privacy. When one spouse surreptitious videotapes the other in her bedroom the privacy rights are actionable. (Dubuque County Case ID: 01311 CDDM012319) According to the Iowa Supreme Court’s decision Cathy and Jeff separated with Cathy remaining in the marital home...

Diet Safety: Alli v. Orlistat

Posted on January 04, 2009
I wrote last on Alli – the FDA-approved, over-the-counter weight loss aid which is essentially a reduced dosage of the prescription drug Xenical. I did some research on the drug and read up on both its pros and cons (yes, there are both). Curiosity got the best of me and I couldn’t help but wonder: what similarities exist between the effects of Alli and its prescription counterpart? Well, we already know Alli is the over-the-counter, reduced dosage of Xenical (it’s given in 60 Mg capsules of Orlistat rather than 120 Mg capsules)...

Teen Safety: How much alcohol can you drink before killing yourself?

Posted on January 04, 2009
Police in Little Compton, Rhode Island responded to a call of driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent. The suspect was at his mother’s home. When police arrived at the home, the man, 39-year-old Jonathan M. Holmes was extremely unsteady on his feet, seemingly drunk...

Iowa Construction Site Safety: Iowa construction worker killed during truck bed cleaning procedure

Posted on January 03, 2009
A 46-year old Iowa man was killed while cleaning out the bed of a semi-truck that is used to haul dirt. The report isn’t entirely clear as to how he was killed but the Chicago Tribune’s report indicates he was trapped between the doors when the hydraulic pressure dropped allowing the doors to shut...

Melamine Contamination: When it comes to food safety are we able to trust the Chinese Communist Party?

Posted on January 02, 2009
The question is worth asking. If these people were free to criticize the government of China would they have exposed the government and corporate corrupution that allowed melamine in infant formula and lead in paint that covered toys shipped to the U...

Food and Toy Safety: China's refusal to allow free speech increases our risk of exposure to melamine and lead.

Posted on January 02, 2009
Instead of putting Tian Wenhua in prison for life just free Liu Xiaobo. Tian Wenhua was the head of Sanlu Dairy, the company with the highest melamine content in the milk it processed. She plead guilty and the China Digital Times is reporting she'll probably get life in prison, although the trials are beginning to look more and more like window dressing...

Diet Safety: Alli is NOT your ally!

Posted on January 02, 2009
It lines the shelves of pharmacies, it’s painted on the front of the CVS store circular, even Target keeps a steady supply of it in stock – it’s Alli, the only FDA-approved over-the-counter weight loss product. I said it yesterday and I’ll say it again: diet pills can be downright dangerous...

Diet Safety: Where do we even begin?

Posted on January 01, 2009
January is (drum roll, please – dud- -du-du-du-du-dudu-duh…): Diet Safety Month on InjuryBoard. And we’re alright with that. In fact, I’m actually excited about it! I’m not one of those organic-only-prepare-my-own-food-all-the-time type individuals; however, I am relatively health conscious...

Will any of the melamine contaminators get the death penalty?

Posted on December 30, 2008
Can you imagine a civil justice system where a milk producer would be allowed to manufacture infant baby formula so poisonous that your infant would develop kidney stones or go into kidney failure and the Courts would dismiss your case; or the government that is supposed to protect your child, orders the responsible companies to pay you a measly $290...

Construction Site Safety: When safety is ignored bridge erection or destruction can kill

Posted on December 30, 2008
