Authors on the Net on Finishing Your Book

Posted on March 13, 2008
Have you been writing your book for what seems like ages? Some writers get caught in the trap of revising, revising, revising… that they never actually finish the book. Or they just put it off so long that they never have a complete book. One secret to getting a book published is actually finishing it, so [...

Buzz created by haters is still buzz!

A few months ago I agreed to read and review An American Hedge Fund by Timothy Sykes. I’ve been a bit remiss in writing the review, but am finally ready to share my thoughts. The best way I can describe Tim is that he’s a character. He is a young ambitious guy, but he’s [...

Why business owners should NEVER hire family members

Posted on March 10, 2008
Under no circumstances should a business ever hire family members of current employees. I don’t care how good the current employee is or how good the potential employee seems. No “wife of the CFO to help with the books.” No “son of a sales guy to help with office work...

Wikileaks case may soon be over

Posted on March 06, 2008
Just a couple of weeks ago, Wikileaks.org was yanked off the internet by its web host Dynadot in response to a lawsuit brought by bank Julius Baer. The bank first went after Wikileaks directly, after someone posted confidential bank documents that allegedly prove the bank participates in money laundering and tax evasion...

Wisconsin homeowners in danger of losing more rights

Posted on March 04, 2008
Do you think the taxing authorities already have too much control over your wallet? Do you agree that they dip into your money whenever they please?  Well if you’re a Wisconsin homeowner, there’s a good chance it could be worse. Bill 2007 AB 580 is sitting on Governor Jim Doyle’s desk, and if he signs it, [...

Defendants cheat Social Security, but claim it?s the government?s fault

Posted on February 25, 2008
If there’s one silver lining to this case, it’s that the defendants are apparently admitting that they cheated Social Security. But now the bigger problem is that they’re saying it’s the government’s fault. Last month 83 people were charged with participating in a $663,000 fraud that spanned 15 years...
