ADVERTISEMENTS

I'm traveling the rest of the week, including to Austin to give a presentation to the Financial Institutions Section of the Austin Bar Association on Thursday with a partner of mine in Bank Business Advisors, John Walker (no, not the "American Taliban" John Walker, another Taliban-hating John Walker). We're talking about how community banks are being steam rolled by the commercial real estate meltdown and how the federal banking regulators are exacerbating the pain instead of alleviating it.

While I'm gone, readers might want to check out an amusing post by Pat Dalrymple at Contrabanker on Banking Terms for the 21st Century. Those bankers who deal with technology agreements will also benefit from a basic checklist that Tom Hall has posted on his Tech Law Guy blog on Software Licenses. The simpler the better, I always say, even though attorneys usually make money from making the mundane incomprehensibly complex.

I'll see you all next week.
