: Arizona Bankruptcy Attorney BlogFor Free! You Have to File a Bankruptcy for me here in Arizona. FOR FREE!!! Note that a free bankruptcy consultation doesn't mean a free bankruptcy!
By Joseph McDaniel, Esq.
See, we're all supposed to drink water!
Recently one of my bankruptcy phone guys (who are both compassionate and intelligent, and do the best they can under difficult circumstances, it being a depression and all) got an unusual call.
It was from a woman who wouldn't get off the line, or provide her name or contact information, until she was guaranteed that her bankruptcy case would be filed for free.
Now, it's not like I don't understand her desires and preferences about a bankruptcy for her, here in Arizona.
I'd really, really like it if the best service station I know would fix my car when it goes "clunk", for free! But Dan Guido at Tony's has to eat, you know? And so do his mechanics. So he doesn't fix stuff for free.
And I'd love it if they'd feed me for free at Baby Kay's, or the Capital Grill!
And I'd love to file bankruptcy cases for free for people; complex cases, big cases, small bankruptcy cases. Chapter 7 bankruptcy and Chapter 13 bankruptcy and Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, Oh, my!
But while My Favorite Price is also FOR FREE, that's not the fee usually charged for bankruptcy cases in Arizona. And I do discuss the fees and costs in the homework section of my blog, but I don't think the nice lady had read the homework.
I think that instead of hydrating with water, which is the correct approach in the heat in Arizona, she decided to hydrate during a long talk with her buddy Jack.
You know, Jack Daniels? And his good friend, Jim Beam?
p.s. I make jokes a lot. Helps to pass the time on this side of the grass. I hope nobody thinks I don't take bankruptcy seriously. And I know that debt makes people scared to death, and it also makes 'em cry.
That's why I've got the Kleenex on my desk.
And if you're cryin', trust me that I ain't laughin' atcha.
Like the Buddha, I think the world would be a better place with less suffering.
p.p.s. It wouldn't have done the nice lady any good if my phone guy had guaranteed her that we'd file her bankruptcy for free, because he's kinda like the guy with the cash register in the grocery store. Since he doesn't own the store, he can't give away the food for My Favorite Price!
p.p.p.s. "free bankruptcy consultation" doesn't mean a free bankruptcy filing or representation!
