A Happy Bankruptcy Parable in Arizona; the Fresh Start after a Rocky Process through Bankruptcy Upward to Success!

And I'm talking to this guy, like you do, and he asked for my contact info and I handed him my card, which says that I'm a bankruptcy lawyer in Arizona, and board certified.

So he starts telling me that his bankruptcy was the best thing, in retrospect, that ever happened to him.

He told me that his triggering factor was the divorce from hell, and that before the d.f.h. he had owned a car lot, made a buncha money, and been a big dog.

And that after the d.f.h., he was living in a friend's house and sleeping on the couch because he couldn't afford an apartment. He experienced shame, humiliation, and embarrassment in connection with his Chapter 7 bankruptcy, and he felt as though he had let down his employees, his children, his parents, and his friends. He felt worthless, and the self-imposed feelings of failure were worse than any stigma.

But he got his discharge in bankruptcy.

He also told me that it took him four years to attain a perfect credit score after his bankruptcy, and that he was going to be getting married to a wonderful woman in about a month, and that he loved his new job.

I thanked him, and told him I was going to blog about his new life after bankruptcy, because I love it when people get a fresh start, even if they do it in another state and aren't my clients!

Although I like it the most when my clients come back after years and tell me about their success after bankruptcy.

I have the best bankruptcy clients on the planet.

Oh, yeah. We laughed about the America West Bankruptcy, and the Ford and Chrysler bankruptcy; if bankruptcy is good enough for them, then bankruptcy is good enough for the honest working people of the United States who work for them and pay for their services and products!
