Every now and then I talk to the guys who handle my phones, and sometimes I hear odd stories. Some about vendors who are using strange and sneaky dodges to try to sell something to the firm, and sometimes...other stuff.

Actually, I always hear odd stories, because the practice of insolvency and bankruptcy law in Arizona at this point is a strange combination of technical issues and the Wild West. And since we're number two in the country in trustee's sales and defaults and foreclosures, the practice of bankruptcy law in Arizona is active right now.

Today a creditor called my office and said, "The bankruptcy trustee said you could help me!"

My guy who answered the phone, who is pretty compassionate, at first felt sorry for him, and ultimately had to get a little firm: "We represent the debtor in this bankruptcy. We can't and won't be helping a creditor in any context. It is a clear conflict! We can't represent you in any way! And have a nice day."
