Did you know that the 17th Judicial Circuit, the "tough on crime" land of Mike Satz & former Chief Judge Dale Ross, is the only jurisdiction in the entire United States of America to have a special day of distinction when all court business is in appreciation of a convicted felon and ex-federal prisoner? Yup, it's true. As first reported back in September, 2007 (courtesy of "In the Glass Darkly" - whatever happened to that guy?), the first business day of November is "Ken Jenne Day." It's probably not surprising that they would have done something so silly back in 1994, given the political nature of the Broward judiciary (hello, Dale's own daughter did eventually get appointed judge). What is amazing is that current Chief Judge Tobin hasn't done anything to rectify the blunder...continue to full post
