In Arkansas, AP reports, "State Supreme Court Pushes Back Death Penalty Suit," via KATV-TV.The Arkansas Supreme Court wants to gather more information about a new state law before hearing a lawsuit that has stopped prison officials from carrying out executions. In a three-page order Thursday, the court asked lawyers for death-row inmate Frank Williams Jr. and the state attorney general's office to say whether the new law governing lethal injections renders the lawsuit before justices moot. The court also postponed oral arguments in the caseWilliams' suit, focused on whether the state should have provided notice and public hearings when changing its execution procedures, is the last legal impediment to resuming executions in the state...continue to full post
