IT'S ON: O'CONNOR vs. SOKOLOFF

Rhoda Sokoloff has switched races.  After being forced out of the race for Judge Vitale's open seat by Vitale's early retirement, and after filing against Judge Carlos Rodriguez last Monday, she's now decided once and for all to oppose Judge Eileen O'Connor's reelection bid.  The Florida Division of Elections website should update after the weekend.Why the switch?"The second the perception came back that I was running against him because he's Hispanic, well, that's not me," Sokoloff says.  She doesn't believe anyone should be opposed because of their ethnicity, explaining that, as the child of Holocaust survivors, even an unfounded perception of racist intent was enough to give her the chills.  Topping it off, she says, were the countless calls from friends and respected colleagues who assured her that Rodriguez is "a wonderful guy, and a wonderful judge...continue to full post
