A couple more fun facts concerning the Kerly Alce trial - Alce lives in the Orlando area.  He had no money for a hotel in Broward, meaning he had to travel three and a half hours north to sleep on Monday night, and drive straight back for the continuation of the trial at 10:00 AM Tuesday.  As fate would have it, he got stuck in a bad traffic jam caused by an accident.  Frantic phone calls were placed to counsel, who admonished Alce to "Hurry Up!".  After traffic cleared, Alce took that advice, since he was still outside of West Palm Beach a little after 9:00 AM.  Unfortunately, he got held up again, this time by a police officer who objected to his traveling a little north of 100 MPH.  Another frantic phone call was placed to counsel, who explained to the Officer that Alce was indeed scheduled for trial in a matter of minutes...continue to full post
