: Dispatches from the Culture WarsRadio Show Preview 6-4-09
By Ed Brayton
Tonight's Declaring Independence is going to be a very difficult one and I encourage you all to tune in. We're going to put a human face on the issue of late-term abortion. My first guest is going to be Lynda Waddington, a colleague of mine from the Iowa Independent. 14 years ago, she actually had a late-term abortion because they discovered a serious problem with the fetus. It's a remarkable story that, quite frankly, is not going to be easy to talk about. Just preparing for the interview tonight has really shaken me up emotionally. But it's an important story and we need to put it out so that people understand that this is not an abstraction, this is an issue that involves real people facing the most painful choice imaginable.
My second guest will be my friend Genie Scott, executive director of the National Center for Science Education.
As always, you can listen by clicking here at 6 pm EST.
