Jerry "Possum" Northington PHOTO AUCTION FUNDRAISER PAGE!

By Seneca Doane

ADVERTISEMENTS

Sunday through Wednesday, we're raising money for Jerry Northington, aka possum, who is running for Delaware's at-large seat in the House of Representatives. Possum's primary is this September. Possum is a Vietnam Vet and veterinarian who will provide our caucus with one more, and a much better, Democrat!

Rather than just asking you for donations, for this diary we're holding an auction here on NION of featuring eight digital photos.  Each will have their own page.  The auctions end at 7:30 PDT/10:30 EDT on Wednesday night!  (Bids put in after the deadline, as indicated by the clock used on this site, will not be honored.  So don't wait until the last minute.)  Eight other photos will be sold at fixed prices as will be described on a diary at Daily Kos.

The artists participating in the auction are Eddie C. and dadanation.  Fixed price photos will be from lineatus and myself.  Why us?  Based on a quick skim through C&J, I contacted only as many artists as I could handle logistically.  In the future, for Jerry's campaign and maybe others, we'll hope for more.

Click through to find the auction rules, links to auction pages, and some stunning photos.
First, to bid, you will need to set up a NION account (if you don't already have one), which is quite easy.  Follow the "make a new account" instructions on the home page.

Second, to participate in this auction, you need to be eligible to contribute to a U.S. federal campaign through ActBlue.  (If you desperately want one of the photos and can't contribute, you can write me at senecadoane at lycos dot com and I'll see whether it's possible outside of the fundraiser.  No promises, though; it would be better if someone bought it for you as a gift.)  Those requirements, taken from Jerry's donation page, are:

Employment Information:
Campaign finance law requires us to collect and report your occupation and employer. In some cases, without this information we will be forced to refund your contribution. Please do not leave blank or enter "N/A".

If not employed, please enter "not employed". Complete even if self-employed.  If not employed, please enter "none".  If self-employed, please enter "self".

Contribution Eligibility:  I confirm that the following statements are true and accurate.
* I am a United States citizen or a permanent resident alien.
* This contribution is made from my own funds, and funds are not being provided to me by another person or entity for the purpose of making this contribution.
* I am making this contribution with my own personal credit card and not with a corporate or business credit card or a card issued to another person.
* I am not a federal contractor.
* I am at least eighteen years old.

Each of the eight photos being auctioned has its own dedicated page, as listed below.  If you see a photo you like, click on that page and post a comment entitled "BID -- $xxx" where "xxx" is the amount of money you want to bid for the photo.  Please check to see that no one else has already outbid you, of course!  No bid under $15 will be accepted for dadanation's prints, and no bid under $20 will be accepted for Eddie C.'s prints, which merely reflects the additional cost of printing a 16" x 20" rather than a 12" x 18" print.

In addition to the winning bid price, you will also need to pay the actual cost of shipping, which we estimate will be under $5 in most cases.  The large 16x20 photos may come in tubes.  (Eddie C. would know; I don't.)  If you want insurance or quicker shipping, you have to cover the extra cost.

At the end of the auction, the high bidder for each print will contact Jerry (or possibly me or the artist, this is still being worked out) to give your address information.  You will then be told to go to ActBlue and make the donation in the amount of your winning bid.  When it registers, we'll send out word to print and mail you the photo.

Here is the list of artwork up for auction.  Click on each title to go to the auction page for the print immediately beneath it.
