By Ryan Singel, Kevin Poulsen, Sarah Lai Stirland, Kim Zetter, and David Kravets

ADVERTISEMENTS

THREAT LEVEL got served today with a ransom note from our 'buddies' over at the Danger Room. We have been instructed to open the nearest book to page 123, go down to the 5th sentence and type up the 3 following sentences. Or else.

We reached right and grabbed Kenneth Behrendt's Secrets of UFO Technology.

Such a larger diameter for the stack that becomes a UFO's solid beam will have several interesting characteristics. It will cause the individual ionic vortex loops to have much more plasma in them than as in the case of ball lightning stacks and this will mean that the neighboring ionic vortex loops of a solid beam stack will be more tightly held together by attractive electrostatic forces than is the case in a typical ball lightning stack. This will assure that the solid beam stack remains rigid and keeps its tubular shape no matter how lengthy it becomes.

The note also demands that we forward this stupidity onto five others.

The following have been notified:

For the sake of the tubes, THREAT LEVEL hopes that Danger Room will now recall its legion of military robots that are cutting internet cables one by one in a badly targeted attempt to undermine the Threat Level.
