Rainer Pörzgen (der sich zur Zeit mit einer Abhandlung über Weinlieferungen an J.W. von Goethe aus Lüneburg beschäftigt) hat im Literaturblatt 1/2010 einen Artikel veröffentlicht, der eine Schlüsselfigur in James Joyce Ulysses, Thomas W. Lyster, zum Thema hat.

Thomas W. Lyster war Bibliothekar an der National Library of Ireland, von 1895 an ihr Direktor. Er war zugleich ein ausgewiesener Goethekenner, hatte die Goethe-Biographie von H. Düntzer ins Englische übersetzt. Außerdem war er Herausgeber der Anthologie ?English Poems for Young Students?. Auch Joyce benutzte sie.

Der Aufsatz findet sich auch auf der Website der International League of Antiquarian Booksellers.
