Jane endeavoured to capture the essence of what every cat lover sees in their own pet by letting her subjects grow up as kittens in and around the studio

Kim, who still lives at the couple's studio where he and his son also photograph a variety of other animals, said the photos were typical of Jane's talent for capturing animals at their best

"Cats are notoriously hard to photograph in the studio but Jane managed to achieve what many photographers have been unable to do," he said
Picture: CATERS NEWS AGENCY

"Jane was not just a talented photographer, she had trained as an artist and, with just a few unerring pencil lines, she could produce lifelike representations of animals," he continued

For many years Jane's line sketches illustrated her father's regular article 'Nature Notes' in the Saturday edition of The Daily Telegraph

A Cat's Life is published by White Star. You can buy the book at Amazon.co.uk...
