: Kentucky Law BlogPENDING: House Bill 200 (Tracking stolen motor vehicles)
By Michael Stevens
Introduced by Rep. Larry Belcher on January 8, 2008. Passed in the House (91 to 0) on February 4, 2008, to require a law enforcement agency to enter a stolen item with a vehicle identification number into the NCIC computer.

KLB NOTE: This legislative development will prove useful and go hand in hand with the fact that Kentucky's mandatory liability insurance requirements current stop short of a covering a stolen vehicle (or a non-permissive user either). Failure to promptly report a vehicle stolen should be evidence that it might not have been stolen!
