: Bernard MadoffBirthday Greetings from the Boys

Mom-
Far be it from me to have forgotten your birthday!
Dad always insisted that we focus on catching whales, but since Abel Automatics only makes fly fishing gear, and Urban Anglers doesn't sell the kind of bait that would attract woppers like the Merkin Marauder, the best I could do under the circumstances was the beauty in the photo to the right.
Cleaning it is a bit messy, but it actually grills beautifully.
Use one of Dreier's knives--the ones that he's not allowed to have around anymore and cut the fish's belly open--from head to tail. You'd probably want to slice off both ends too..
After you do that, place a 1/4 inch stick of butter in the middle, and generously season with salt, pepper, a touch of garlic and maybe sprinkle in a small chopped onion...then wrap it in tinfoil and throw on top of the barbecue grill. Grill on one side for 5 minutes, then turn it and grill for another 5 minutes.
We actually caught a few of these babies this past weekend and grilled one right on the beach--just like we used to do at the place in Montauk!
Since I know that you're already over-subscribed in the cake department, you should have plenty of the Caoni Chocolates that we sent for Mother's Day to keep your choco fix satisfied.
And yes, you're right--Dad's little joke with the cake that he had sent over wasn't funny at all. But its perfect evidence for Ira to argue that Dad's clearly losing it and needs to be in a special place. As far as anyone else "losing it", you're right as usual--there are more mental retards in the media than there might be where ever they should send Dad.
The whole thing about finding the "lost money" and how much everyone "lost" is a joke. How can people lose what wasn't there in the first place?
Happy Birthday, Mom!
Love,
Mark (and Andy)
