: Ms. JDFrom Generation to Generation: Remarkable Women Leaders
By jessie
On Saturday, August 7th, at the ABA Annual Conference, the Commission on Women in the Profession is facilitating a great panel discussion, "From Generation to Generation: Remarkable Women Leaders." Ms. JD is a co-sponsor of the event and many members of the Ms. JD family will be there, including members of the Board and our 2010 Fellowship Winners. I hope you'll join us!
In recognition of the 20th Anniversary of the Brent Awards, a panel of successful women attorneys and leaders, all former winners of the Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Award, will discuss the personal qualities and experiences that shaped their careers. Moderated by Mary Cranston, herself a Brent Award recipient, and her daughter Susie Cranston, co-author of the recently published book: How Remarkable Women Lead: The Breakthrough Model for Work and Life, the panel will focus on what drives women leaders. Based on five years of research, common behaviors in women leaders including (1) finding passion and meaning, (2) choosing energizing activities (3) positive thinking and framing; (4) networking and (5) speaking up and taking risk will serve as the framework for the panel discussion. The panelists? stories, insights, and perspectives on their journeys to the top of the legal profession will inspire you and teach you how to inspire others.
Panelists:
* Teveia R. Barnes (2004), President & Executive Director, Lawyers for One America, and Partner, Foley & Lardner LLP
* Angela Bradstreet (2007), California State Labor Commissioner
* Drucilla Ramey (1997), Dean, Golden Gate University School of Law
